Uttarakhand Public Service Commission ( UKPSC ) was formed on 9th November 2000 by the Constitution of India and Governor of Uttarakhand. Its head office is located at Haridwar. It consists of a chairman along with 4 other members and all the members are appointed by the president of India. Its main duty is to conduct examinations for the appointments of various services in government department. It gives advice to central government on matters related to recruitment and promotion of officers.
A recruitment notification has been published in the official website of UKPSC. Through this, UKPSC invites applications from Indian Citizens for the recruitment of Junior Engineers in various disciplines under the pay scale of Rs. 9300 – 3400/- with grade pay of Rs. 4200/-. Interested and dedicated candidates with requisite qualification can apply latest by 27th September 2011.
Total 778 vacancies are available for the post of Junior Engineers in the discipline of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Agriculture. Out of this, 304 vacancies are for the department of Public Works Division [ PWD ] Lok Nirman Vibhag for civil, electrical and mechanical department. 424 posts are for Irrigation department [ Sinchai Vibhag ] under civil and mechanical department. 50 posts are for Minor Irrigation department [ Laghu sinchai ] for agriculture, civil and mechanical discipline.
For all of the above positions, pass in diploma / bachelor of engineering in the relevant field is required. Selection will be based on written test and interview.
