Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, (TIFR), Mumbai hereby invites applicants for Walkininterview
for
ONE position each of PROJECT ASSISTANT and PROJECT FELLOW for NIUS Physics Laboratory at HBCSE.
The candidates should have interest in Research and Development in the field of training of UG students in
Experimental Physics. Candidates should have familiarity with use of computers and willingness to work in the
physics /electronics teaching laboratory
We are looking for candidates, who want to make innovative contributions and assist the NIUS (Physics) group in the
following areas,
1. R & D in Physics and Electronics laboratory training at the UG level.
2. Study and development of experiments and student projects in Physics.
3. Training and guiding UG students in Experimental Physics.
4. Participate in Physics Education Research and data collection/analysis.
5. Preparation of manuals and material related to novel experiments in Physics.
· PROJECT ASSISTANT – ONE position
Qualification: The candidates should have a M. Sc. degree in Physics with minimum of 50 % marks. Candidate with
impressive M. Sc. Project work experience will be preferred.

The position is purely temporary, for one year extendable by one or two more years at a fixed honorarium of Rs. 10,000/with
an annual increment of Rs. 1000/per
year. House Rent allowance in lieu of government accommodation at
the rate of 30% of the honorarium will also be paid.
Age: Below 30 years (relaxable in deserving cases)
· PROJECT FELLOW – ONE position
Qualification and Experience : The candidates should have a M. Sc. degree in Physics with minimum of 50 % marks
and work experience of ONE year in teaching or research laboratory. Candidates with impressive M. Sc. Project work
experience will also be considered. Preference will be given to the candidates with extended work experience or an
additional degree.
The position is purely temporary, for one year extendable by one or two more years at a fixed honorarium of Rs.
12000/p.
m. to 16000/p.
m. with an annual increment of Rs. 1000/up
to a maximum limit of Rs. 16000/p.
m
depending on quality of skills and/or experience. House Rent allowance in lieu of government
accommodation at the rate of 30% of the honorarium will also be paid.

/ Public Sector undertakings /Autonomous body must get No Objection Certificates from their
reporting Officer. Outstation candidates belonging to SC/ST are entitled for ordinary/Mail/Express second class return railway fare. This
concession is not admissible to those SC/ST candidates who are already in Central/State Govt. service.
